Actor Nelson Irizarry : Next to Blow Up, keep your eyes on this guy.

One film can change a person’s life. Actor Nelson Irizarry can attest to that. What started his love of acting is when he was casts as Sean Morales in Derick Thomas 2006 film Charm City. After seeing the magic behind making films and seeing someone’s vision come to life, Nelson realized that’s what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. Nelson travels to New York, Washington D.C, Atlanta, and Philadelphia to audition and work on independent films.
The New York City born and raised actor has performed in independent films like Charm City, Life in the Game, Who Shot Ya, Timebomb, Destiny, Zombie Doomsday, Urban Survival, The Dead Ones, Runner Pt2. and Autumn Rage. Nelson is actually in production for the films Raising Wolves and Deadly Silence. He has also been in a web-series called Eden Lost as the character Nathaniel. Looking at 2011; Nelson plans to begin branching off to huge budget feature films or a TV series.
What can be done for Baltimore City independent films and its filmmakers? Nelson feels that support from the people and the city of Baltimore is a must. There are tons of talented individuals in Baltimore City. You shouldn’t have to go to Hollywood to make it big when tons of actors come out of Baltimore and made their mark in Hollywood like Charles S. Dutton and Mo’Nique. Casting agents only cast for extras and it’s even harder to get a permit to film in Baltimore City. We really need major support from everyone. Let’s bring the money back to the town and create our own Hollywood Boulevard!
Nelson looks to actors like Will Smith, Denzel Washington, Al Pacino, and Nicholas Cage for inspiration. Nelson loves the quote from Will Smith, "What makes me so successful is when people are sleep, I’m working". And that’s actor Nelson Irizarry in a nutshell. You only get one life, so make the best of it and decide what legacy you would like to leave behind. Nelson looks forward to showing off his talents in Alvin Gray’s suspense thriller Senior Cut Day which starts filming November 15, 2010.
